Throughout my career, The Coastal Society has been a constant source of inspiration and support – an organization of coastal resource management professionals dedicated to advancing the field through communication, education, collegial discourse, and networking. My TCS involvement through the years, beginning as a graduate student, included participation in conferences and other meetings where I met so many current colleagues and mentors, gave talks on my research, and moderated sessions (such invaluable experience!); to becoming a member of the Editorial Board of Coastal Management (the official journal of TCS); to taking leadership roles where I had the great opportunity to bring people together from the public, private and non-profit sectors to help shape the CZM narrative.
